For this podcast, Tami Jelinek is joined by guest co-host Shannon Shogren to chat with Tim Martin about his recently published book, Beyond Creation Science: New Covenant Creation from Genesis to Revelation.

We discuss the story behind the book, and several key arguments it presents for a local Genesis flood from the text of Scripture itself. We also discuss the cultural and historical context of modern Young Earth Creationism, and its relationship to pre-millennial dispensationalism.  Several elements of our discussion come together to emphasize the covenant context for all of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible is truly one story, and Genesis is the beginning of that story.

To order the book, or to contact its authors, Tim Martin and Jeff Vaughn, please visit their website:

(note: Our discussion of the book, Beyond Creation Science, is not meant to suggest that we are in agreement with all of the soteriological conclusions presented therein. --the partners of NCMI)

Martin Family Story

Tim and Amy Martin first met at a conference held by American Vision in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1993. They were both homeschooled for a portion of their education. Tim graduated from Bob Jones Academy in Greenville, South Carolina. Amy graduated from Maranatha Christian Center in Arvada, Colorado. Tim and Amy both attended Christ College, married in 1995, and went on to live in the Denver metro area where Amy grew up. After their wedding, they joined Covenant Community Church in Arvada, Colorado, started a small service business, and became active in Colorado politics.

The Martins moved to Whitehall, Montana, in 1999 with their oldest children, Micaiah Henry and Caleb Bahnsen. The next four Martin children were born in Montana: Joelle Grace, Ethan Barclay, Isaiah Pascall, and Aletheia Faith. All six of the Martin children are homeschooled. Tim continues in active congregational ministry at Covenant Community Church in Whitehall, and provides for the family through his business that operates across southwest Montana. Amy has volunteered at the New Hope Crisis Pregnancy Center in Butte, Montana, and remains active with the Education Station, a homeschool co-operative serving Whitehall and the Jefferson Valley. We are a family with a desire to live gloriously in the presence of God as we seek to further his kingdom and righteousness in all that we do. We praise God for his many blessings to us and enjoy his beautiful creation at every opportunity.

Comments:

Personally I bought the book because of the artwork.

Ok, just kidding. Good interview, Tami and Shannon. I hope you all are are doing well and I trust your interview will spark more interest in Tim and Jeff's labor of love.

Although you can judge a book by its cover on this one. It's all good!!!!!!!!

Blessings,

Jim Kessler
